Welcome to Hawthorn Class
The children in Hawthorn Class are Reception and Year 1.
In Hawthorn Class our teacher is Mrs Bott, who is supported by teaching assistants Mrs Neale, Mrs Elsworth, Mrs Cozens and Mrs Nurton throughout the week.
This year we have 28 children in Hawthorn Class.
We love to learn in our classroom and the spacious, adjoining outdoor area.
We use our outside area every day and enjoy spending time exploring in our garden.
What is Around Me?
In terms 1 and 2, our class learning enquiry big question is 'What is Around Me?'
The enquiry is underpinned by three key concepts :
Belonging
Influence
Environment
Throughout their learning journey, children explore a number of key questions. These will be:
Where am I?
What can I see out of my window?
What are the colours of the seasons?
What sort of houses and homes are there?
Who are the people that help me?
What is a city?
What is a map?

Class Information
PE days are on Thursday & Friday each week.
Reception children will get changed for PE in school. Year 1 children will come in dressed for PE on their PE days.
