COnifer Class
Welcome to Conifer Class !
We are a marvellous class of 20 Year 5 and Year 6 children. Our teacher is Mrs Camper and on Fridays we have Mrs Skinner. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Coates and we have Mrs Cozens every Tuesday afternoon.
Conifer is a very hardworking, resilient and respectful class. We always strive to be the best versions of ourselves, while being a friend to everyone and trying our best to always respect ourselves, those around us and our environment. We love learning and are all very proud of what we achieve learning together.
Spring 2024 Terms 3 and 4
'Why is it important to know our place in space?'
This term we are looking at 'Why is it important to know our place in space?' Our enquiry is underpinned by three key concepts: Purpose, Phenomena, Identification.
Throughout our learning journey we will be exploring mini enquiry questions to support us in answering our enquiry question. These are:
How do planets move?
Why should anyone go to space?
What do forces actually do?
How do things fall up?
What does Earth look like from the solar system?
What more is out there?
Where does the darkness come from?
We will enhance our enquiry in Whole Class Reading when we will study 'Troofriend' by Kirsty Applebaum and 'Curiosity: The Story of a Mars Rover’ by Marcus Motum. Alongside this, we will enjoy a daily class read-aloud which is 'Tyger' by S.F.Said and 'Hidden Figures' by Lee Shetterly.
As well as our learning enquiry, we will continue with daily Maths and English lessons and regular slots for all curriculum subjects.
Our PE days are on Wednesday and Friday each week. Please ensure that your child has a named water bottle each day.
